My son started receiving 88222 short code messages on the 21st February 2018 every two days at 19:20pm that were charged at £1.25 per message. He had never even signed up to this service. I tried to stop them by sending STOP to 88222 however this didn’t seem to work. I investigated and after around 4 hours of searching I found this to be linked to a website provider called Tap2Bill Limited @ http://www.tap2bill.com providing a shortcodes SMS for service another company called SB7 mobile @ http://www.sb7mobile.com The only way I could stop these unauthorized payments was to change the mobile number on his sim card through O2. I only saw these on last months mobile bill at total so far of £7.50 hopefully they will now stop. I think that this might have been activated from a third party app from the iOS store that I have now removed. I am now in the process of attempting to reclaim these unauthorized payment to from SB7 mobile. I have also reported the app and 88222 number used by this Direct Operator Billing Premium SMS service. It’s a good idea to start checking your kids mobile bills for payment like this and also block 88222 on your kids iPhone. Hope this helps other parents who have been a victim of this type of money extortion.
checked my 14 year old daughters mobile bill and there are 9 of these messages charged at 31.25 PER TIME !!! They should not have her number in the first place and she blocked the number weeks ago. Be careful and check your bill thoroughly
