It took a couple of days for Guru to respond to my email. They agreed to cancel the service(which I didn’t sign up for) and said I’d receive a text from The Post Office within 7 days giving me a 19 digit code to take to my local Post office. Got my code in about 3 days and refund same day over the counter. Do NOT send stop as this will cost you more money

I received a text from The Guru saying Free Msg: Reminder You are subscribed to the Guru for £4.50 per month from Primus until you text STOP to 60005 help@spontaneousguru.com 02039362736

I have no idea who this is or why they keep texting me I have never subscribed or provided any details of where they can take money from. Like the normal advise I have not clicked on anything or replied to them but they keep texting me.

Will they have taken any money and if so how will they be collecting it. Will it be through my mobile phone bill as I don’t check this as it should be all inclusive?

Update. 3 mobile has refunded the £9.00 but there is no way of avoiding this in future.
Basically anyone can enter your number into a dodgy site and you get sent texts (if you even receive them) and charged £4.50 A time.
This is massive fraud/theft and it needs to be made illegal.

I received a number of texts from 60005 and was charged what amounted to £9.17 in total for a service I never subscribed to. On receiving the text I immediately forwarded it to the O2 number 7726 which is supposed to be the service to stop receiving SPAM, sadly this did nothing. I continued to receive the texts. I have complained to O2 which I note is mentioned a lot in these comments as a service provider. They have refunded the money I have had fraudulently taken from my account and stopped all future Premium rate numbers from accessing my phone number. I’m still writing a letter of complaint to O2 and I’ve also reported it to the PSA.

My mobile provider (BT) have blocked the premium number from whoever this company is and refunded all charges. They confirmed there was an initial charge for December and another 2 charges for the texts they have sent this month

They have suggested I contact the PSA (phone paid services authority) and I have just submitted a complaint, their website is https://psauthority.org.uk/

I don’t know where they have bought these numbers from, was anyone affected by this a former T Mobile customer?

Yes I’ve now received two texts and been charged twice. Likewise o2 don’t want to know. It says text Stop to cancel but I’m going to be charged for that too and I don’t know how much. There is a phone number but is that a premium number as well. How do we stop this without paying anymore money out.

I’m the same, I ignored it thinking how can they charge me for something I never signed up to but I have just got my phone bill and there is a £4.50 charge on there.
I stupidly tried to call the phone number but you need to leave a voicemail with your phone details to opt out or leave a voicemail for an advisor.
I’m with BT mobile and just trying to speak to them now

Yes I received the texts and they’ve also billed me via my provider, three, who are not taking responsibility for it. I know I definitely did not subscribe to the service but I’m having trouble getting a refund. Three just don’t want to know, the customer service was shocking. I’m so annoyed people can just do this without your consent.

Hi Luke, I didn’t reply and in fact reported it to my provider as spam and they still proceeded to remove money from my account. The best thing to do is contact your provider and ask to be placed on the unsubscribe list for premium rate numbers.
